Les Rendez-vous intergénérationnels: a programme designed to bring the whole population together
For the third year running, the Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion, in collaboration with some fifteen local partners and organisations, is inviting its residents to take part in the Rendez-vous intergénérationnels, to be held throughout May. The aim of these activities is to create links between people of all ages and encourage human exchanges rich in knowledge, experience and kindness.
Through a series of varied initiatives, young and old are invited to get together in a spirit of togetherness and sharing. The programme includes a big intergenerational walk, tree planting, intergenerational games, culinary, artistic and musical workshops, and an open evening at the La Croisée building, the intergenerational community hub at 1255 rue Émile-Bouchard. Some specific activities will also be held with targeted groups in different environments.
"The consultations carried out as part of the Family and Seniors Policy process clearly demonstrated the importance of encouraging opportunities for people of all ages to get together. These moments, whether spontaneous or organised, build invaluable bridges between citizens of all ages. While the City coordinates these events, their success depends on the remarkable commitment of our partners, who are increasingly numerous and motivated to bring this wonderful initiative to life," points out Pascale Lauzon, Head of Section - Social Development and Diversity.
