Rehabilitation of boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes : $3 million in financial assistance

The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion is pleased to announce that the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable du Québec (MTMD) has awarded it a grant of up to $3 million for its project to upgrade a section of boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes, between rue des Floralies and rue Henry-Ford. This financial assistance is awarded under the support component of the Programme d’aide à la voirie locale - 2025-2026. Work is scheduled for summer 2025.

The funded portion of the project consists of the complete rehabilitation of this 1.3 km segment of the boulevard. At the end, it will comprise two lanes in each direction, separated by a concrete island. In addition, to ensure maximum safety for the most vulnerable users, the project incorporates vegetated lanes, a bicycle path and a sidewalk.

“Mobility is extremely important in a vast territory like ours. That’s why our government is stepping up its efforts to improve and maintain our roads in every region of Quebec. This investment in Vaudreuil-Dorion is a fine example. I’m delighted to see that our collaboration is enabling our partners to take action to make travel safer and more sustainable for everyone."

Geneviève Guilbault, Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility

“We know that this phase 2 of the work on boulevard de la Cité-des-Jeunes has been eagerly awaited by residents because of the current state of the roadway. This work is part of the improvements required for the arrival of the new hospital, a major project for our community. Coordinating work in this high-traffic area will be a major challenge, but we’ll be putting in place well-thought-out detour plans to minimize inconvenience to the public.”

Guy Pilon, Mayor of Vaudreuil-Dorion

The Programme d’aide à la voirie locale was set up by the MTMD to assist municipalities in planning, improving and maintaining the local and municipal road network infrastructures for which they are responsible.
