A wide range of day camps in Vaudreuil-Dorion

The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is once again offering its residents a breathtaking selection of summer camps. Online registration opens on April 7 at 6 p.m. for all camps. New this year, the L'Air en Fête theme camps give way to art camps, an initiative made possible thanks to an agreement with the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications. The complete summer program is now available.

“In Vaudreuil-Dorion, we are proud to offer a wide range of camps to our citizens. Once again this year, we've enhanced our programming with the addition of arts camps and three new sports disciplines: racquet sports (badminton and pickleball), swimming and baseball. The Animation Jeunesse team looks forward to welcoming children from June 30 to August 15 for a summer filled with laughter and fun,” says Vincent Bastien, Director of the Service des loisirs et de la culture.

This summer, regular camps for children aged 4 to 11 will be held at the Hymne-au-Printemps (99, rue Maurice-Richard), Sainte-Madeleine (14, rue Sainte-Madeleine) and Papillon-Bleu (pavillon Saint-Jean-Baptiste) (2, avenue de la Fabrique) schools. The locations of the various specialized camps (Franco-Fun, environment and sports) are detailed in the summer camp brochure.

A camp for every passion

As in the past, parents will be able to choose from a variety of camps to tailor-make the summer season for their children. The 21 art camps, offered at École des Légendes (4000, rue Phil-Goyette), will enable children to discover and explore various art forms while participating in a creative project. Throughout the summer, they'll have the opportunity to learn about different artistic techniques, such as singing, musical comedy, digital creation, photographic printing, painting, sculpture and theater, to name but a few.

For the fourth consecutive summer, Animation Jeunesse will be offering its Environment Camp, in collaboration with the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion's Service du génie et de l’environnement. The camp will address a variety of environmental issues, including waste reduction, water conservation, biodiversity, natural environments, urban agriculture, pollinators and carbon footprint.

This summer, the sports camps will offer 16 disciplines supervised by a team of qualified coaches. Youngsters will be spoilt for choice with activities such as circus arts, baseball, basketball, climbing, flag football, gym field hockey, karate, kinball, swimming, skateboarding, soccer, sportmania, racket sports, tennis, ultimate Frisbee and volleyball.

Camp Franco-Fun, for allophone children wishing to perfect their French during the summer, will be back from June 30 to July 11. In addition, Gymini will be back with its specializations in gymnastics, cheerleading and parkour.

Offer for teenagers

As part of Club Ados, young people will take part in two bus outings a week (Uplå, La Ronde, Super Aqua Club, Clip 'n climb, Arbraska, District 1, etc.). Special projects, themed workshops of your choice, bike and water rides are also on the schedule. Two sports camps, one in volleyball and the other in flag football, will also be offered exclusively to teenagers aged 13 to 15.

The Centre multisports André-Chagnon will also be offering teen-oriented activities throughout the summer, such as fitness, beach volleyball and a preparatory field hockey camp.

The camp brochure is already available. Prior to registration on April 7, it is important to create an account on the online platform, and to have a valid citizen card.

Animation Jeunesse camps are reserved for children aged 4 to 15 who live in Vaudreuil-Dorion and are currently attending school.
