Skatepark
Located at Parc Paul-Gérin-Lajoie, the skatepark is a unique, attractive, entertaining and accessible gathering place for everyone.
Since its official inauguration in May 2014, the Skatepark has been established as THE gathering place for local "skate" enthusiasts. Young citizens are proud of their park and are promoting the site on a provincial basis, even going so far as to develop an original web presence.

History of the project
The need for a Skatepark was unanimously recognized, even though there were existing facilities on the territory. The City found that the activity areas provided for this purpose were insufficient. What's more, the coefficient of difficulty of each of the facilities did not meet the needs of increasingly demanding and seasoned skateboarders. skateboarders. As a result, the municipal council supported the project to build a Skatepark that would meet the needs of enthusiasts of this undeniably popular sport.
The city worked with local youth to validate the concept before implementation, to ensure that the new park would meet the needs of its users. The concept and location chosen for the skateboard park reflect a desire to create a gathering place that sows pride. The visibility of the infrastructure is its best marketing element, as users benefit from a large showcase to demonstrate their exploits. The natural setting adds to the quality and appeal of the facility for all.
