In Vaudreuil-Dorion, let's play outside this winter

From January 18 to February 15, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion invites the public to play outdoors as part of its Plaisirs d'hiver program. Citizens will be able to enjoy the joys of the cold season at parc-nature Harwood and parc de la Maison-Valois.

Parc-nature Harwood

January 19 will be an opportunity to try out fatbikes, while February 8 will be dedicated to a 2 km obstacle course in the park. On weekends, residents will be able to try out a variety of winter activities. In particular, cross-country skiing will be available on January 26 and February 15, from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Vaudreuil-Dorion residents will be able to secure their place by pre-registering online, starting at 9 a.m. on January 13. All equipment will be provided free of charge at the welcome pavilion. A representative of Ski de fond Québec will be on hand to explain basic cross-country skiing techniques.

The ever-popular torchlight hikes will be back on January 18, February 1 and 15. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., residents can take part in a torch-lit walk along the 2 or 3.5 km trails. The last departure is at 8:30 p.m. Participants are invited to bring a flashlight. The loan of headlamps is free for residents on presentation of their citizen card. Dogs are not allowed on the course.

Parc de la Maison-Valois

On Fridays, January 24 and 31, and February 7, DJ Duffix will set the mood at Parc de la Maison-Valois with his themed musical arrangements. Animation, strolling characters and the Caravane Mozaïk will add to the park's ice ring and slide. Les Toasters skateboard school will be on hand to demonstrate snowskating and introduce the curious. Citizens will also be able to borrow skates, scooters and snowskate boards free of charge by presenting their citizen card. Equipment loans are free of charge. Borrowing tubes is free for both residents and non-residents. To warm up, visitors can sip a free hot drink in the Maison Valois.

The schedule and activities are subject to change without notice, depending on weather conditions. Residents can call the Info-Annulation line at 450 424-8502 to make sure they can attend.
