Organic waste: back to bi-weekly collections

Weekly organics collection continues every Monday until November 15, for all sectors. Starting November 18, the service will resume every two weeks for the winter season, until April 15:

  • Sectors A and B: as of November 18
  • Sectors C, D and E: as of November 25

For exact dates, please refer to the municipal calendar.

Remember that plastic bags, even if identified as compostable, biodegradable or oxo-biodegradable, are not permitted in the brown bin. This measure is designed to guarantee the quality of the compost generated at the composting center. The presence of plastic films can seriously compromise the efficiency of the decomposition process and alter the final product. We therefore recommend that you use paper bags, make wrappers from unwaxed paper circulars, or simply place bulk materials in the brown bin.

Green waste

Although green residues are accepted in the brown bin, three collections are offered in the fall. The first collection took place during the week of October 21. There are still 2 collections to come during the weeks of November 4 and 18.

Only paper bags and bulk waste (e.g. in a large plastic bin, a garbage can other than a wheeled bin, etc.) are accepted at this collection. They must be deposited at the curb before 7 a.m. on Monday morning to ensure collection during the week.
