Swimming lessons

Children, teens and adults can register for swimming lessons offered by the City with the goal of learning the swimming skills needed to safely enjoy the water.

Summer 2024 Session

The ''Société de sauvetage'' ''Nager pour la vie'' program replaces Red Cross swimming lessons. It teaches children, teens and adults the swimming skills needed to enjoy the water safely. See the Swimming classes for children and adults tab for full details.

An in-water evaluation to determine your child's level is strongly recommended.
To this end, we are offering two time slots for this evaluation, if you are unsure of the level at which to register your child:

  • Saturday, June 8, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 9, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

There will be no group transfers after the start of the session.

Registration

Registration is done online on the registration platform. It is important to create an account at least 48 hours before the opening date of registration, if you have not already done so. To create an account and to register, residents must have a valid citizen card. Registration by phone is also possible for people who do not have access to a computer (450-455-3371, option 4).

Registration dates

  • Vaudreuil-Dorion residents: starting June 10, 6 p.m.
  • For all: starting June 12, 9 a.m.

The summer session will take place from June 29 to August 18, 2024 for children and from June 25 to August 15, 2024 for adults in the outdoor pools.

PLEASE NOTE

It is important to choose the right level when registering.

In-water evaluation is strongly recommended. To this end, we offer time slots a few weeks before the registration period for the upcoming session. During the open swim sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, depending on the pool's attendance, it is possible to ask the lifeguards for an assessment of the appropriate skill level.

Submit a refund request

For a refund request or credit rating, complete the refund or transfer request form (in French) and send it by email to the Recreation and Culture Department. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals unless a medical certificate is provided.

For refund requests by cheque:

  • If the request is sent prior to the start of the event, an administration fee of 10% or $10 (whichever is greater) will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.
  • If the request is sent after the event has begun, the amount of services rendered must be added to the previous calculation on a pro-rata basis from the date of receipt of the form.

For credit notes, the amount to be credited will be calculated on a pro rata basis for services rendered from the date of receipt of the form.

In the event of cancellation by the City, a credit will be issued to the account in proportion to the service not received.

Course retake

In the event of absence, please note that there are no retakes. The City does not offer private lessons. All courses are fully booked, and as the City must respect the Lifesaving Society's ratio of swimmers to instructors, it is impossible to change days or times. Thank you for your understanding.
